The Bishop

$1,000.00

Encaustic and Mixed Media - 24”x20” on 1.5” cradled wood panel.

Layers of clear encaustic medium create a thick translucent surface which draws the viewer into the piece. In areas where the wax application is thickest there is a subtle depth to the wax. I use a torch to manipulate and fuse the wax this gives my surfaces a beautifully textured finish.

Encaustic (bees wax & damar resin), ink, gesso and oil on cradled wood panels. Signed, dated and titled on the back. There are occasional stray yummy wax drips on the sides which are all painted a soft gray.

Shown in a grouping with other pieces from the series, please reach out if you would like to see more grouping photos, these are great in pairs!
