Framed Encaustic Pieces
Smaller encaustic pieces, mounted and framed. Many can be used vertically or horizontally.
Each little shape is hand cut from various papers or vintage magazines, some are then hand stained. They are then suspended between layers of clear encaustic medium to create a thick translucent surface. When the wax is fused into the paper the paper shapes become translucent. I use a torch to manipulate and fuse the wax this gives my surfaces a more textured finish.
Frames are a personal preference, I frame all of these in white to highlight the artwork, the white frame is included for free (and will make the dimensions slightly larger) - it is your choice to keep it in the white frame (I think they are lovely!) or to reframe in a frame that suits your personal taste
